As a mom, I’m deeply grateful to Ms. Lan — she helped my son discover something he truly loves. Having a teacher who can open that kind of door for a child is one of the greatest gifts life can offer.

  • “This wasn’t your typical class or paint night—it felt more like a therapeutic escape. We talked, snacked, created, and just enjoyed being together. It was low-pressure, personal, and honestly so much fun. Thanks for inspiring me Maria.”
    — Janet B.

“I didn’t expect to feel so calm making art, but as I started piecing things together, it just clicked. My collage ended up reflecting my love for the Jersey Shore. It now hangs in my beach house.” -Jess R.

“I almost didn’t come because I thought, ‘I’m not artistic’ and felt guilty taking a night for myself. I ended up having the most relaxing time—and I actually created something I’m proud of. I didn’t know how much I needed this until I gave myself permission to show up.”

  • In this hands-on, one-day workshop, kids won’t just learn how to draw—they’ll learn how to create.

We’ll begin the morning with guided instruction in drawing plants and flowers from observation. Then in the afternoon, the real fun begins: students will explore how to grind and mix natural materials—like berries, spices, and earth pigments—to create their own handmade paints. It’s messy, sensory, and deeply engaging.

Using their custom-made paints, each student will bring their drawings to life in their own unique style.

This isn’t your typical art class—it’s immersive, creative, and rooted in exploration.

Each child will go home with a beautifully framed piece of art, ready to hang and proudly display.

  • Ms. Lan is incredibly skilled at making kids feel inspired and supported. Our son came home full of stories and joy. We’re so grateful for this experience and will recommend it to anyone who loves art and nature!

---Jessica W. Mom of 3rd grader

Miss Lan’s philosophy to art is simple.  “Everyone is a great artist!”  She gave my daughter a huge boost of confidence in creating her own artwork without worrying that her work is not “good enough”.  She loves Miss Lan's classes to sign up for more classes!
