At first titled “Drowning” a painting I made to reflect the season I spent wandering a desert. A season that felt like drowning. But by the time I finished it, I realize I hadn’t drowned, but rather emerged. I love that everyone can notice and feel something different when looking at this piece. It is evocative, and that describes some seasons. Something that should’ve killed me, hadn’t. I learned of my strength and resilience.
